Moving from another host doesn't have to be painful. We'll help you migrate your server with minimal downtime.
Two ways to get your server moved
Follow our step-by-step guide to migrate your own server. Most migrations take 15-30 minutes.
Open a ticket and our team will handle the migration for you. Just provide access to your old host.
Everything you need to keep your community running
All your worlds, dimensions, and structures. Every block your players placed.
Your entire plugins/mods folder with all configurations intact.
server.properties, spigot.yml, paper.yml - all your tuned settings.
Inventories, stats, permissions, economy balances - everything player-related.
MySQL databases used by your plugins (if applicable).
LuckPerms, PermissionsEx, or whatever permission system you use.
Step-by-step migration instructions
Use your old host's file manager or SFTP to download your entire server folder. Make sure to get:
Order a plan that matches or exceeds your current resources. Your server will be ready in under 60 seconds.
In your SyteSpace panel, stop the server before uploading files. This prevents conflicts.
Use the File Manager to upload your downloaded files. For large transfers, zip everything first - our panel can extract archives.
Make sure the server type (Paper, Forge, etc.) and version match what you were running. Adjust JVM flags if needed.
Start your server and check the console for errors. Join and verify everything works. Update your DNS/IP if using a custom domain.
Quick fixes for typical migration problems
Cause: Usually wrong Java version or server type mismatch.
Fix: Check Startup tab and ensure version matches your jar file. Paper 1.21 needs Java 21.
Cause: Plugins in wrong folder or incompatible versions.
Fix: Ensure plugins are in /plugins/ folder. Check each plugin supports your server version.
Cause: World folder name doesn't match server.properties.
Fix: Check level-name in server.properties matches your world folder name exactly.
Cause: Plugin trying to connect to old host's database.
Fix: Create a new database in our panel and update plugin configs with new credentials.
